I just want to urge all of you to make sure that when you move these women into these combat roles, that we don't make the mistake of isolating them.

This is a law that is working very well for some people, to the extent that it has been implemented to date, and for other people it is not working very well.

Anyone who is running any kind of business, if they saw a 78 percent reduction--I mean, it is hard to see how they would survive, and particularly those who have made their way on the seas for years and generations.

Our fishermen have gone through this year a 78 percent cut in what they can fish for in their quota for the Gulf of Maine.

Senator Shaheen has also been very supportive of our New Hampshire fishing industry, and just recently was instrumental in appropriating much needed disaster relief money.

Senator Ayotte has advocated for us since I've been manager, and has recently helped address the dogfish crisis.

I don't fault the Council for this because basically, the denial of the interim measures, I don't think that they had a lot of choice at that point.
