On Tuesday, DAV members and other veteran service organizations joined me at a press conference to call for swift passage of the Major Richard Star Act.

I wish we, in Congress, had more to show for ourselves in terms of legislative productivity in the 118th Congress.

I am proud to have DAV's support for one of my top priorities this year, passing the Major Richard Star Act.

DAV has been integral in helping us pass life-changing legislation like the Deborah Sampson Act, the Hannon Act, and most recently the PACT Act.

Unfortunately, legislation like the HOME Act and the Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act are currently being held up by those whose priorities lead the privatization of veterans' health care.

We have also been working in a bipartisan and bicameral way to improve VA's Community Care Programs.

Toxic exposure is a cost of war. We must vigorously resist any attempts to return to the bad old days.

I am proud to have recently introduced the Fred Hamilton Lost Military Records Act, based on Fred's own experiences.

That is why I am proud to have DAV's support for one of my top priorities this year, passing the Major Richard Star Act.

I will ensure that VA gets the budget it needs to complete its goals.

These actions that they are trying to take are in complete contrast... with the Taylor Grazing Act.

Each of us can always count on the DAV to let us know how Congress can best support our nation's veterans.

Make no mistake about this: it was the VSOs and the veterans who put pressure on Congress to do the right thing.
