I believe that this bill is a states' rights issue, that the State of Utah does not want gambling within its borders.

That is the problem.

I encourage my colleagues and the American people to thoughtfully consider options in the Middle East before continuing down paths that I believe may lead to mission creep and to an indefinite United States military presence to prop up…

Those of us who are freshman Members really appreciate you staying and answering some questions for us.

The White House has been sending mixed and, at times, contradictory messages about what our interests are and what threats to our security exist in the Middle East.

We urge the committee to consider S. 185, the Promise for Antibiotics and Therapeutics for Health (PATH) Act, introduced by Senator Hatch and Senator Bennet.

This bill would require FDA to create a new, limited population approval pathway for antibiotics to treat serious and life-threatening infections for which there are few or no other treatments.

Senators Hatch and Bennet have introduced the PATH Act which would direct FDA to approve drugs for specific limited populations of patients who have life-threatening infections and few other treatment options or none.

There certainly are limits. Yes, Senator, there are.

And so that requires a degree of independence, in a sense, doesn't it?

Reforming the United States Secret Service is not a partisan issue.

I wish, you know, at a minimum that these witnesses would have been provided, at least behind the scenes so that we could have received some answers.

I join the Chairman in expressing my disappointment of the lack of cooperation.

I want her taken down. I want a net to go over that city.

The threat is real, but I don't feel it, I don't see it, and it is unacceptable.

But how do you not know? This is what is so infuriating.

Please convey to the men and women who do the hard work day in and day out... how much we love them.
