I am shocked. I am stunned actually to hear the statistic that our colleague Representative Underwood has shared today.

I share the concern of my colleagues, especially Representative Pingree who has been working on this for a long time.

As our population ages, it is Medicaid that is the safety net for our most vulnerable citizens.

If the conversation today has shown us anything, it is that Medicaid block granting simply does not work.

I look forward to working with the Committee to examine the study and determine what actions Congress should take to address this situation.
