We believe these programs can offer women veterans important opportunities to network with other women with shared experiences in an environment conducive to healing and recovery-based care.

For these reasons, we strongly support this measure and urge its swift passage.

My bill, H.R. 3798, Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act, eliminates co-payments for prescription contraceptives.

H.R. 2645, the Newborn Care Improvement Act, introduced by Ms. Lee, doubles the number of days of newborn health care coverage.

It is imperative that we eliminate all cultural and physical barriers to women veteran's health care.

Today's hearing presents an important opportunity for this Committee to build off what we learned and address specific legislative proposals that will take care of our veterans and enhance the access to quality care.

I urge the Committee to consider this legislation for markup and believe that it can be passed through the House on suspension.

Sexual assault rates for women have been at it's highest since 2006 and how the VA handles their claims needs to be approached.
