Success at a local level is built on strong families, is built on strong institutions of civil society.

This is an important issue.

Sometimes what people need more than anything is access to other people, access to networks, access to institutions of civil society to which they are connected.

Congress has a right to have this material it, and it is unbelievable to me that you think that we shouldn't have a copy of it.

I want straight talk from you. Are you or are you not going to provide that to us?

The Department of Justice just does not get to hide things from the United States Congress.

The only way we can protect them is actually have somebody looking over the shoulder to make sure they're telling the truth.

That's not how America works. That's not how Congress works. We're accountable to the people of the United States of America.

But if a guy has been arrested in 43 States, he should not be eligible as a confidential informant, especially one highly paid. Zero credibility. That's disgraceful.

This legislation would require Federal law enforcement agencies to fully report to Congress on their payments to confidential informants as well as the amounts they have received through their work or cooperation with informants.
