I attended the Senate oversight hearing on missing and murdered indigenous women and heard from a young woman that law enforcement agencies and the FBI have continuously failed at investigating these crimes.

Federal agencies should only receive funding for the development of these guidelines if they have a plan for meaningful consultation with tribal leaders and families of MMIW.
