With COVID-19 vaccines widely available to adults, some workers have cited their lack of access to paid time off as the reason for not yet getting the vaccine.

Expanding access to paid leave would help families across Country balance needs at home and at work.

This is a public health imperative that businesses that are eligible for that tax credit use it and that other businesses give workers paid sick days for the vaccination.

As we have discussed today, caregiving obligations disproportionately fall to women and can impact the number of women in the workforce.

I am concerned about the vetting process for sponsors.

I think this Congress can act to make it easy for employers to offer incentives, like in a match, an emergency savings account.

I also think it is important to have portable retirement benefits so that when women do leave the workforce, they are able to take their benefits with them.

According to the retirement confidence survey, 38 percent of divorced women have less than $1,000 saved for retirement, and 42 percent of never-married women.

I would look forward to further consultation about other ways Congress can move forward on helping all of our retirement plans be cyber secure.

I think that a--first, a focus on Social Security is really essential because that is the primary retirement vehicle for most Americans, including most women.

Every worker should be able to save enough to cover their expenses during their retirement years, but we are here today because we know that's not always the case.

I think paid family leave is a big factor here, as well as just the access gap that we have been talking about all morning.

The funding request for HHS put forward by the Biden-Harris administration is exactly what we need in this moment to address the many challenges facing our country.
