I have introduced the Workers Act, the Pathways Act.

In this type of labor market, there is no upward pressure on wages because when people are desperate for work, they are willing to take lower-paying jobs.

Wouldn't you agree that Congress' investment in workforce and workforce development and helping developing those skills for that workforce would be important?

We have tools in the United States that have put us in a position to protect our national security.

We are not done here at the Federal level with our monetary and fiscal policy in addressing the economic crisis.

I appreciate that, but it seems like we were not exactly ready.

Our global competitiveness, it depends on our participation and in our leadership in setting the standards for the next generation of technologies.

My thoughts are with the brave Capitol Police officers that put their lives on the line to protect us on January 6th.

They came on not only with weapons but also with hate.

Bringing this hearing is much needed, and I think it is the first of many.

It is unacceptable that you have people queuing up to get through a gate for pedestrian access but the fence has rendered pedestrian access difficult, to be generous.
