Have the lessons learned in planning and preparation from the Marathon event itself impacted emergency preparedness policy and practices today?

My concern is when you have one administration that is really focused on adjudicating disability claims you do not necessarily focus in the same ways that you could on economic empowerment and transition.

One of the defining opportunities will be the upcoming elections in 2024 and we will have a critical role in supporting those elections and hopefully encouraging an election observer mission.

I think, to your point, we broadly need to be targeting resources toward election integrity, knowing that this is the next real opportunity for the citizens to be heard from.

Last week marked the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon.

It was a painful lesson learned, but the results were dramatic.

we do not have a national strategy to how to respond to a crisis, or a national strategy for emergency management.

It was an important reminder to me that we have so much work to do.

I think it is important to really recognize that, and recognize it is the first responders and it is the survivors and the public as well.
