We just need more people. We have great people working on that, we just need more of them, and that is what I am hoping to add.

So yes, this is not just the problems, but can you tell us what you are doing with this proposed budget to increase the timeliness of your response to Congressional requests.

Well, please keep us advised of that because it is--you know, it is a short horizon before you are in, so it is a significant issue.

That has to stop, not just as a matter of economic probity, but as a matter of simple decency and justice.

I think it is worthwhile emphasizing, again, the fact that the--and the cost benefit analyses, the benefits you have rendered to the Congress and the Nation have been significant.

A budget is a statement of values. It makes clear what we prioritize.

The Biden budget would guarantee up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave.

Citizens United was another one. They said, 'Don't worry about it. All the unlimited spending we're going to unleash is going to be independent of candidates, and it's going to be transparent.'

Motive matters, right?

Would it endanger the lives of the American people if we were to second-guess agency decisionmaking?

Agencies need those regulations to then carry out their work, whether that's investigatory work or enforcement work.

the notion of like all they know about is the regulatory process, which is what you say here, that's exaggerated.

The goal of this legislation, quite simply, is to stop the regulatory process in its tracks, regardless of its impact on public health and safety.
