I'm not saying there's not climate change. I'm not saying there's not scientific things we can do to keep a clean environment.

In the recently passed FAA reauthorization bill, passed by this House unanimously in a bipartisan way, it included the Drone Infrastructure Inspection Grant Act.

When you look at everything that has been done under this administration... it became way too expensive and ancillary things added to it.

Every day in courtrooms around the country, including St. Louis, prosecutors who ultimately report to you are continuing to disproportionately prosecute, disproportionately, Black and Brown people.

Effectively, this rising debt of the Federal Government will put increased pressure on Congress and this committee to fund infrastructure improvements through the general fund.

Now more than ever, this Administration should be focused on real infrastructure improvements and policies that can help get us out of these crises.

Can you tell me how the Department is considering the President's Justice40 initiative as it considers projects such as this one?

I would like a commitment from you that you are going to be transparent and provide the methodology to the American public.

But I want to be clear that the Congress has charged you with that responsibility.

It is not OK that we can't explain it. It is not OK that FEMA tries to hide behind this proprietary model.

FEMA's role is critical. We have had recent flooding and tornadoes in my district, and it is important for FEMA to work quickly and closely with the State emergency management agencies and local responders.

On a bipartisan basis, the committee, and this subcommittee, in particular, have worked to improve FEMA and the Federal Government's emergency management system.

I think it is important to be clear that when we pass a law requiring payers and providers to go through a dispute resolution process, we intend for the relevant parties to participate in that process, not ignore it.

I have overarching concerns about decisions being made that waste taxpayer dollars and reduce our readiness.

Can you shed any light on what this is that the White House is coming in and taking this over?

I also hope that many of the reforms we have passed in my time on the Committee will help remove unnecessary red tape and bureaucratic policies as we move through the recovery process.

We passed something. It has created some good for many patients, and we are now reflecting on it.

I hope FEMA will work swiftly and efficiently to approve this declaration so the people of Missouri can continue to recover.
