Thank you very much. I have a short statement for the record.

I support an all-of-the-above energy strategy which says that you don't just depend on oil but you absolutely explore for oil, you explore for natural gas, you advance coal, you advance nuclear, you advance wind, you advance solar.

I guess that means he thinks the future is bankruptcy and lost jobs. I sure think we should go a different route.

But I think it's a very important point that you raised.

I want to say I really appreciate the hearing the chairman and the ranking member have put together.

I'm very pleased to hear that fracking is not the problem.

I would imagine if you asked the Secretary of Defense to count how many billions of dollars that American energy production actually yields to the Federal Treasury to pay for our national security to fund the Department of Defense, I hope…

If we opened up Keystone tomorrow, that is a million barrels a day we would be getting from a friend that we wouldn't have to be getting from some of these countries that don't like us.

I think it is wrong, by the way.

The answer is not more regulation. It is smarter, stronger regulation.

I strongly endorse the overall concept of not more regulation but smarter, stronger regulation.

I want to thank you for the series of hearings we are having on these temporary tax provisions.

I do think that any entity can run a little leaner and smarter to reduce costs.

I think one thing that helps is when people know that you won't tolerate incompetence, laziness, or whatever the matter.

Nothing carries the spirit of American idealism and expresses our hopes better and more effectively to the far corners of the earth than the Peace Corps.

While I do not believe I did anything illegal or ever thought I was doing anything illegal, I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong, and there is no one else responsible for my sins.

I wanted to say, first, thank you for the jurors, and their incredibly hard work and their diligence. They took their job very, very seriously. All I can say is thank goodness we live in a country that has the kind of system that we have.
