I hope this incident will result in less rhetoric about, and demonizing of, Transportation Security Officers.

The shooting that took place at LAX was a tragic and senseless act of violence.

We cannot continue to fund programs with the hope that they will work.

I have been a critic of the SPOT program since its inception and expansion prior to being validated.

I want to make sure that we are on the same wavelength with that.

My years in leadership on this committee have given me great insight into the American public's evolving interest in homeland security.

It is heartbreaking and quite frankly makes me angry that the VA has so completely screwed up a medical center with the name of such a great supporter of our veterans.

I would like to know everyone that was involved in that. They should have been fired immediately.

I think the timeline can clear up a lot of that.

But we have to look at making sure that your employees, Mr. Jenkins, the ones that are performing are taken care of.

There seems to be some serious issues with the VA and I do not just think it is Jackson.

There is no, with the number of veterans in Mississippi we should be that number one, that number two ranked in the best hospital system for the VA in America.

Veterans have to wait more than a year to receive benefits and when they do it is painstakingly problematic.

It has taken us some time to fill those vacancies.

We have to recognize that there has been some serious mistakes made in the past before we can begin the process of moving forward.

I think some of us are concerned that the culture of the facility allowed certain things to go on.

I think I am concerned with how we are presently handling situations, too.

Being from Mississippi, being a marine veteran, serving in the Mississippi Army National Guard, you know, I take these complaints extremely seriously.
