I say for political reasons, of all the irresponsible allegations leveled over the past 2 weeks, this is the most troubling, and based on what our military commanders have told us, this allegation is simply untrue.

It is ironic that for all of these years, the communists were talking about how horrible free enterprise and capitalism is and here they have turned their back on their own country while they still have a government that claims allegiance to Marx and Lenin and they just turned their back on this most predatory and awful example of irresponsibility in the name of making a profit.

I call to order this hearing of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats.

Recently, a crew from the California Air National Guard that was operating a remotely piloted aircraft out of March Air Reserve Base was able to locate a survival raft less than 2 minutes after being given a rough approximation of its position--not 2 days, not 2 hours, 2 minutes.

In regards to Communist China, however, we cannot trust, nor can we verify.

I personally go out of my way to try to not buy products in China because I have concluded, that is one of the reasons we are holding this hearing.

Many are concerned that the Blue Grass Chemical Activity at the Blue Grass Army Depot is not receiving the resources needed to complete the chemical demilitarization operations.

I just hope that we can have that commitment up here as elected officials to do the right thing so this never happens again.
