I appreciate the opportunity to appear and testify today, and I thank the Committee for soliciting projects that will have a transformative impact on our nation, including the Northwest Indiana economy.

We must ensure that American-made goods are used in taxpayer-financed infrastructure as our Nation continues to move ahead to full economic recovery.

I am proud to work with the Department of Transportation and any other stakeholders to ensure that our request to speed I-69 completion is using taxpayer dollars responsibly and conforming to all relevant laws and authorities.

As I have mentioned, this will not only save lives, but will stimulate economic activity across the central part of the United States.

We are supporting eldercare, caregiving economy, making it easier to age in place and have community-based care because having that kind of care infrastructure in place is part of what makes it possible for Americans to thrive.
