The Medicaid program has been an important health care safety net for nearly 60 years that has helped people in difficult financial circumstances, including people with disabilities, children, seniors, and low-income families.

This bill has additional problems.

My difficulties with the bill go far beyond what they could resolve.

If it was important enough to tweet it, it would seem to me it was important enough to notify this committee.

Generally, I give deference to the majority leader’s power to bring bills to the Senate floor.

There's some very good changes that have been made in the latest version, but I want to see further changes.

I want changes to the bill made through the amendment process or I might vote against it in the end.

If the bill is not further changed, I would be leaning against the bill.

I totally disagree that the parliamentarian should be fired.

These are not only the right thing to do for humanitarian reasons, but they are incredible instruments of soft power.

Pocket rescissions are illegal, in my judgment, and contradict the will of Congress and the constitutional authority of Congress to appropriate funds.

I will not support a cut in PEPFAR, which is a program that has saved literally millions of lives and has been extremely effective and well-run.
