We stand at a critical junction for the Transportation Security Administration as we in Congress consider whether to invest the resources necessary to ensure the continued security of our transportation systems.

I have been seeing that this is not just a strategic area, valuable and ripe with valuable commodities.

I joined Congress in 2011. Would you please stop stalling?

With 30 percent pay increases set to hit paychecks next month, TSA has already seen a drastic decrease of 40 to 50 percent attrition among TSA work force.

Simply put, this Republican bill would seriously undermine TSA's security mission.

Last December, Congressman Gottheimer and I sent Chair Gensler a bipartisan letter on the SEC's market structure proposal.

This would be a positive, positive thing to have for NATO.

I hope you are, because my constituents need to know that. They need to understand that they are not going to experience what California has experienced.

Given the Republican overreach we have seen, and I dare say we will see today, a better title for this hearing would be, 'Republican Micromanagement of the SEC Run Amok.'

Do you believe any rules you are issuing should make cars less available, less affordable, and less functional for consumers and their needs?

Micromanagement run amok by House Republicans is putting at risk the SEC's ability to regulate the likes of FTX and other bad actors who destroy investors' dreams with ignoble schemes.

I thank the Chairman, and I thank my friend from Connecticut too for highlighting that because it is expanding because it works, and we need to keep doing that.

It seems like you and the rest of the SEC staff are well-versed in congressional oversight and responsibilities are very well-equipped.

Unfortunately, the bill prohibits increased pay for any TSA employee who is not a TSO.

I am a proud cosponsor of this bill, and I encourage my Republican colleagues to give it serious consideration as a solution to TSA's funding challenges.
