What we found in that investigation is that companies were able to ward off competition by putting their drugs in closed distribution systems.

The company ensured the drug was considered the gold standard--the best drug available for the condition it treats, ensuring that physicians would continue to prescribe the drug, even if the price increased.

We, on the Intelligence Committee, want to know the answers to those questions. And we have begun to request information from the attorney general to allow us to get to the bottom of that.

It's fundamental to the operation of our government that the FBI be insulated from this kind of political pressure.
