Senator Tina Smith carried legislation in the Senate, I carried it in the House to address this issue.

This is a one-time payment in helping New Mexico families who struggle to get a car, to safely look for work, to pay for rent, or even to get food on the table for their children.

I believe the Congress can strengthen child nutrition programs to address this challenge in New Mexico and across the country.

That is unacceptable.

We have a responsibility to address the water needs of our Indigenous communities.

One thing I would also say is there is still a big need in New Mexico.

I was proud to introduce the New Mexico Navajo Water Settlement Technical Corrections Act to authorize the Navajo Gallup Water Supply project.

We still have communities in the United States of America that don't have safe drinking water. That is totally unacceptable.

I am very concerned that there are still delays that were created from the BIA in the previous Administration.
