The climate and the environment are absolutely the most important issue, if we don’t have our Earth, we don’t have anything.

They called it low hanging fruit for uranium mining. That’s what they think of these people and that’s what they think of this land.

I’m a single mom. I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck. I survived off of SNAP and WIC. I’m over 35 years sober. I started school later in life and paid my own way. These are the same struggles so many New Mexicans face today.

I just wanted to take this opportunity today to make it clear to everyone that’s listening, including everyone in this room: This mine’s not welcome in New Mexico.

The most important thing to remember is election night results are unofficial.

We’ve never had a Native American governor in New Mexico. I think representation matters, especially in a political era such as this one.

But with the grit, creativity and persistence that only New Mexicans know, I know a better New Mexico is possible.

I’m really encouraged at the level of participation.

If I didn’t earn your vote this primary election, I want you to know I’m going to work every day to earn it now.

Everyone – from Hobbs, to Mora, to Farmington, to Deming, and everywhere in-between – has a home in this campaign.
