There are no Federal training requirements for categories of home care workers, such as personal care aides.

Just as I said in my testimony, just looking to reform immigration policies so that we can support more direct care workers who are already filling a significant proportion of these roles would be important.

So, I recognize the frustration and the challenge, but the problem that hasn't been touched in 40 years.

A recent report found that 43 percent of direct care workers rely on public assistance such as Medicaid or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP.
