The growth of defense spending has outpaced HASC's ability to conduct proper oversight.

It is completely and totally unacceptable.

As Senator Shelby at our Senate testimony hearing last March pointed out to us, we must maintain what we have before we can build new, and I think he hits the mark head-on.

Well, because we have had to pull from existing subcommittees to do that.
