I think it's deeply disappointing that the Government have come forward with a budgetary package for next year that is smaller than last years, it shows that they're really out of touch and don't understand the pressures ordinary people…
Everybody knows what they're paying at the pumps at the minute, so it will push the price of diesel well above €2, it is simply unacceptable at a time when so many people are feeling the pinch and this cannot go ahead.
We cannot control the cost of international fuel. But the one thing we can control is how much tax we apply.
The Government must act now to protect people at the pumps by extending these cuts until a review on Budget Day and ensuring that no additional pressure is placed on households already struggling with the cost of living.
