It’s time for Mark Carney to keep his promise that he would negotiate a win and get the tariffs off Canadian softwood lumber.

We hope that over the next couple of days we’ll hear the good news that Mr. Carney will have kept his promise and Canadians will get (an) even better deal than we had before.

We believe that the United States spends tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies to its farmers, which put our producers at a competitive disadvantage.

Nor can we accept a bad deal. Instead, we must continue the fight for tariff-free trade.
