I want Canadians to know that we are working hard for them. We are being transparent. We have a plan. We are managing migration. We clearly have results.

We will continue to monitor how this goes on … as we continue to improve, perhaps adding children, perhaps adding populations outside Canada.

We really need to keep up with the cost of the government providing services to Canadians. And so that’s why … there was an increase, and we don’t anticipate an increase now because of the announcement that I am making today.

I told the media, which is true, that we have a difficult task, but we will do it, and we will deliver for Canadians.
