When the U.S. is ready to engage, our government will work in good faith and constructively towards a more secure mutually beneficial trading relationship that fully respects Canadian sovereignty.

We’re going to find a deal with the United States at some point that’s in the interests of the entire Canadian economy, and that’s the work we continue to do.

We’re not negotiating detailed text as we were five, six weeks ago, but we remain in contact with them.
