We recognize with empathy the profound impact that this situation is having on families and communities across our country.

Canada will be sending more than 18,000 emergency items from Canadian Red Cross stockpiles to the area in addition to the $5 million Ottawa has already pledged in humanitarian aid.

Our priority is to locate Canadians and permanent residents and confirm their safety while offering support wherever and whenever possible.
