Penny Wong: “Multicultural Australia is the only Australia that has ever existed.”

I will call in Israel’s Ambassador to Australia Hillel Newman and have directed Australia’s Ambassador to Israel to convey our views directly to Israel as the Australian Government considers next steps.

We have taken action that Prime Minister (Benjamin) Netanyahu’s government has made very clear that they are more than displeased with, but we have done so because this is the right thing to do.

Minister Wong has condemned the actions of Israeli authorities and the behaviour of Israeli minister Ben-Gvir who we have already sanctioned.

We call on the Palestinian Authority to ensure elections take place without delay.
