I think the world would be better served if a nation like China were to step up and begin to take those sorts of greater responsibilities.
There is no reason that we should have China as an enemy. We should certainly look for ways to work together.
I think it is very important that we on this committee keep up to date on developments in China, both in terms of their foreign policy aims and also, most importantly, their military buildup.
He had a knowledge of military history and a dedication to the men and women who served which is unparalleled.
He was an amazing man. I mean, I can't think of anybody who was more dedicated to the people who served in the military.
He went out of his way to work across the aisle to make sure that we always remembered what we were doing here, which was to look after the national security interests of our country and those who served and protected it.
We need to ensure that our military remains strong and ready to respond to any threat.
