Without question, Iran is a bad actor... Since 1979, they have been pretty much nothing but a bad actor on a lot of different issues.

I am not optimistic that Iran will be willing to give up what they need to give up in order to get this deal.

The President's decision to move forward with the transfer of these detainees was a tough call. I supported it. I stand by it.

Absolutely not. Totally different situation.

I think the way Mr. Bergdahl has been slandered has been scandalous.

Ultimately, I will tell you, I think it was [in the best interests of the United States].

But I think that risk has been greatly exaggerated.

I think this committee needs to be careful about acting like we got nothing out of this. We brought home one of our soldiers.

I look forward to the comments from the Members from outside of the committee.

I know how bad the situation is there, having previously represented that area.

We have to try to alter this behavior, certainly condemn it, but try to find ways to hopefully make sure it does not happen in the future.
