Mr. Speaker, I rise today in support of S. 2950, ``To extend the pilot program for volunteer groups to obtain criminal history background checks and for other purposes, introduced by my distinguished colleague from New York, Senator Schumer. ``The Criminal History Background Checks Pilot Extension Act of 2009,'' will be revising the 78-month requirement to a 92-month requirement. This act is particularly important to protect our children as they participate in so many activities throughout the community.
