Lamar Smith is a former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Texas's 21st congressional district from 1987 to 2019. During his tenure, he served as the chairman of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, where he focused on issues related to science policy, technology, and innovation. Smith was known for his advocacy of scientific research and development, as well as his support for policies aimed at promoting economic growth through technological advancements.
I think we all know that. Somebody else has already mentioned that this is the first hearing on this important subject in 10 years.
Safe domestic natural gas production has benefited the environment, the economy, and the hardworking families who now enjoy reduced energy costs.
Unfortunately, opponents of hydraulic fracturing make claims based on the possibility and not the probability of associated risk.
The combination of hydraulic fracturing and directional drilling, called 'fracking,' is arguably one of the most significant technological advancements in the history of the oil and gas industry.
It is amazing to me that the Administration actually thinks that changing this mission... is going to somehow attract the American people's attention.
The Administration continues to starve NASA's exploration programs to fund a partisan environmental agenda.
I also disagree with the Administration's continued attempt to redistribute funding within NASA.
