Today's Health Subcommittee hearing will examine the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program that was created in the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act enacted in 2011.

I absolutely do not think a delay solves our problem.

We believe that H.R. 2017 is a huge step in the right direction.

H.R. 2017 seeks to improve and clarify the final rule promulgated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) implementing the menu-labeling requirements of Section 4205 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Consumers most assuredly will see higher food costs, perhaps fewer choices.

The obligations are imposed not only on chain restaurants, including delivery establishments, but also on any other chain retailer that sells non-packaged food.

The legislation will help small business owners, franchisees, as well as consumers who want easy access to accurate nutrition information.

Today's health subcommittee hearing will be examining the costly and burdensome regulations regarding the menu labeling requirements.

I would also like to add my concern for not having the ACE Kids Act included in 21st Century Cures.

I strongly hope that giving HHS this authority would help to ensure that our healthcare system can sustain the treatments that we hope to advance this legislation.

I continue to work with my colleagues in the Energy and Commerce Working Group on Telemedicine towards a bipartisan proposal that will encourage the use of telemedicine services to improve health care quality and outcomes.

While increasing accountability, this legislation would invest in the basic research so critical to equipping our Nation's best and brightest with the tools they need to discover the underpinnings of disease.

We can and must do more to help patients in need and to maintain our Nation's role as the biomedical innovation capital of the world.
