I do want to zero in a little bit on this master file issue, because it is of a concern to me.
we propose in the crisis, for the immediate short-term future, that students at these institutions will pay zero dollars for tuition, zero dollars.
That is what we are trying to do on this side of the aisle, is to promote that work ethic.
By requiring children to remain in school as they receive SSI, these individuals will increase their likelihood of graduation, obtaining employment, and breaking that cycle of poverty that we all agree must be broken.
It is imperative to encourage and incentivize young people to stay in school and build a future full of opportunity, self-sufficiency, and economic success.
As a former member of this subcommittee, it is an honor to appear before you today to discuss important reform measures within the Supplemental Security Income program.
I am fairly confident that the American people are astute enough...if there are concerns in the agreement that need to be raised, they will be raised.
