Why did the NRC rely on Entergy's hazards analysis instead of performing an independent analysis of risk and consequences of construction and operation of the AIM Project?

Nuclear energy is a critical component of our nation's all-of-the-above energy strategy.

I strongly believe that the NRC has not adequately investigated the risk nor responded substantively to the concerns that have been raised.

But it was not an independent analysis of risk and consequences of construction and operation, was it?

I think this is a country created for all not just for some.

The Secret Service has a long and storied history of excellence and professionalism, but recent incidents have diminished its reputation.

I would like to thank Chairman Carter, and Ranking Member Roybal-Allard for holding this important hearing today.

Do you think it would be inappropriate to send a very strong message that this kind of behavior is absolutely inappropriate?

Isn't it not acceptable to take a car and drive into a fence or kill someone on the street?

I do hope you send that strong message and that changing the culture can be done immediately, not take a long time.

How can we as Members of Congress have respect for an agency that feels this is okay?
