Andrew Reed Garbarino is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 2nd congressional district since January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Garbarino succeeded former Representative Peter King. He has focused on issues such as economic development, public safety, and veterans' affairs during his time in office. Garbarino has also been involved in efforts to support small businesses and improve infrastructure in his district.
The potential for malicious Russian cyber activity, as well as attacks by other adversarial nations like China, Iran, and North Korea, is only increasing.
Congress must continue to facilitate public and private partnerships that are able to meet and repel these threats.
This is going to be the great challenge for the next how many years, I don't know.
The legislation that was passed recently... is a step in the right direction.
I think that the information sharing between the public and private sector is absolutely critical.
We talked about what FEMA was doing for its cyber programs. But Chairwoman Clarke and I just recently passed a State and local cybersecurity grant program which, when implemented, it is about a billion dollars.
My district, Long Island, suffered immensely from Superstorm Sandy almost 10 years ago and many... are still rebuilding their homes and businesses.
