Harry Reid is a former United States Senator from Nevada, serving from 1987 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Reid held the position of Senate Majority Leader from 2007 to 2015, making him one of the most powerful figures in the Senate during his tenure. He was known for his leadership on various issues, including healthcare reform and economic recovery efforts following the 2008 financial crisis. Reid played a significant role in passing the Affordable Care Act and was a strong advocate for renewable energy and land conservation in Nevada.
But you see, that is the problem that a number of people had, and that is, how can you have a license application if you have not done anything about transportation, because they should be one and the same.
I am very pleased that someone, somehow, has worked through the Office of Management and Budget, and the Executive Branch has finally recognized that this is a truly long-term initiative of great significance.
Do you have people that are keeping track of the litigation that is ongoing with Yucca Mountain?
Senator Reid and I have worked hard in our position of chairman and ranking member and vice versa in this effort the last few years.
This reduced amount of funding... is going to hamper progress on many large projects.
And I am saying that you are saying the right thing, but your actions are not.
the only obstacle to your progress and ability to meet the license application deadline of 2004 is a lack of funds?
