Harry Reid is a former United States Senator from Nevada, serving from 1987 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Reid held the position of Senate Majority Leader from 2007 to 2015, making him one of the most powerful figures in the Senate during his tenure. He was known for his leadership on various issues, including healthcare reform and economic recovery efforts following the 2008 financial crisis. Reid played a significant role in passing the Affordable Care Act and was a strong advocate for renewable energy and land conservation in Nevada.
The NRC cannot perform these critical functions properly, though, when it is not operating with its full compliment of five Commissioners.
