I believe that every child who presents to our border upon arriving, having fled conditions of trauma in their countries of origin, and as we have discussed, may have faced trauma during the journey, the trauma should stop.

As a Member who represents a district on the Southern Border, I appreciate the opportunity to discuss the critical issue of recruitment, hiring, and retention at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
We have to ensure that our agents on the ground have the adequate resources and technology to effectively patrol these areas.
One of the children who died, part of the challenge was the transportation to a medical facility.
I am the only Member on this committee that represents a Southern Border district.
Are inspectors required to speak with those employees or union representatives?
If it turns out that there hasn't been outreach by the facility, would that result in disproving of a facility's site security plan?
