The secretive mediation surrounding litigation and potential removal of these dams is an outright betrayal of the citizens who depend upon this infrastructure.

The Administration's purported concern for the Columbia Basin salmon and the steelhead trout lacks scientific consensus, and their continued refusal to consider contrary scientific evidence is infuriating and irresponsible.

The Administration's exclusion of Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada from the agreement, confining negotiations to Oregon and Washington, exposes the purely partisan nature of their decision-making.

These minerals are essential to America's success in the 21st century, and we cannot rely on our enemies for them.

We must decide whether to reopen our mining and refining operations, regaining control over our destiny.
