If it were not for NEPA, the military might never have had to explain their plans to the public or estimate what the costs would be to our environment and way of life.

It seems that we are considering a bill that would replace the judgment of fishery stakeholders for that of the House of Representatives.

H.R. 4284 gives states more responsibility for protecting threatened and endangered species, even though those species have become imperiled.

Why is that habitat so important?

This increase is long overdue.

I very much appreciate Mr. Gosar and Mr. Crawford actually voicing their support for the economic stimulus the hatchery system provides.

It is hard to imagine how someone could support both bills.

I would hope that those Members who support government-subsidized rearing of non-native fish will also support investments in wildlife refuges.

I hope we can work together with the Senate to make a version of this bill law by the end of this Congress.

I am happy to see we will be considering H.R. 5069, Chairman Fleming's bill to authorize an increase in the price of the Federal Duck Stamp from $15 to $25.

The refuges bring in some big money. They create business opportunities and jobs, they are great for people who like to hunt and fish and enjoy the outdoors.
