Mr. Chairman, I reserve a point of order.

Millions of Americans are given only a single day--I think I expressed my concern that Alabama was one of four States that does not have any form of early voting.

According to article I, section 4 of the Constitution, States have the primary role in establishing the time, place, and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives, while Congress has a purely secondary role and must restrain itself from acting improperly and unconstitutionally.

I am concerned that this is potentially putting that information, putting that very sensitive information at risk in the event of a cyber attack against TSA.

When will the department provide the Committee with a number of illegal aliens on the terrorist watch list who have been encountered at the Southwest border and subsequently released into the United States, as well as the current status and disposition of each of these cases?

Florida is one of nearly three dozen States that have passed organized retail crime statutes.

According to our Constitution, the States have the primary authority in election administration. They have the responsibility to determine election laws and to administer Federal elections.

It is a first principle for our country that every eligible voter, every American citizen who wants to vote must have an opportunity to cast a ballot within the time and in the manner specified by law and, just as importantly, for that ballot to count according to law.

While some voices may claim that efforts to help voters have confidence in our election systems and outcomes restrict access to the ballot box, that simply is not what most Americans believe, and it is certainly not the work of this Committee.

The role of Congress in elections is secondary: to provide oversight and to support the States in their efforts.
