“Mr. Chairman, I rise in support of my good friend from Iowa's amendment and the underlying bill by Mr. D'Esposito, H.R. 8146. The Nunn amendments will provide policymakers with the information we need to better support our local and State law enforcement officers. This is especially important given the strain the crisis at our southern border has placed on our local communities like the ones we are privileged to represent in Iowa, Indiana, and New York. Biden's border crisis has made all districts across the country battlegrounds where police are fighting the scourge of fentanyl every day. It is an epidemic, funded by China, driven by the drug cartels, and assisted by Biden's disastrous border policies. During National Police Week and every week, we should be doing everything in our power to support the men and women in blue.
