Part of what today's hearing is doing is not only coming up with strategies to protect essential workers from COVID-19, but it's also helping us think through what we do the next time a novel Coronavirus hits.
Thank you Madam Chair and thank you to our witnesses for this critical hearing and part of why I'm so delighted to be on this subcommittee under the great leadership of Chair Adams.
The real victims of lifting of these mandates are the people who are going to contract COVID-19, some of whom will die.
We see some friction with the private sector in some of these States that are lifting the mask mandates a little bit prematurely.
This type of behavior, these types of antics particularly taunting and harassing a teenage survivor of gun violence has no place in our Education and Labor Committee.
the Republican Party has stopped struggling and has looked at poll numbers and decided, you know what, Donald Trump is our party.
we've got to get in the business, Anderson, of looking at commonsense, gun safety legislation.
I hope my colleagues on both sides of the aisle will continue to join me in advocating for real funding for those two bills.
I am, however, deeply concerned that many institutions may not survive, that years of important research will be lost.
