The timing of this hearing is important as this Congress continues the bipartisan, bicameral reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

A major issue now is the Carcieri v. Salazar decision of the U.S. Supreme Court.
I would like to point out Michigan went through a struggle on the fishing rights and the Indians basically won on the basis of a treaty.
