Now, this Congress recently passed a science bill, really just a thinly veiled attack on climate science, but it prevented funding for NSF projects that are not in the, quote, 'national interest.'
I was shocked at how little we were doing to counter the Russian hybrid warfare threat.
I realize that there are concerns regarding proprietary information related to SBIR, STTR programs, particularly when the SBIR grant is related to the Department of Defense.
Where traditional metrics, such as how many jobs are created, revenues created, or companies created, are not applicable, we look for output measures instead, like papers and patents.
It is important that we encourage entrepreneurship among these disadvantaged groups.
