We need to be able to transport goods. But we need to be able to do it in a safe manner.

If you own this company, why do you not have those rights? And why does the SEC not stand with the owners?

If you actually do believe that shareholders own the corporation, you should be pushing harder for the shareholders.

People who own something should have some say on what the thing that they own does.

I judge people on what they do, not on what they say.

Most of my constituents... don't really think that the SEC has ever... stood with them.

And I know from my personal work on that bill with Congressman Frank that we tried at every turn to try to make a distinction between the regulation against the big banks that caused the problem and the community banks who did not cause…

But if they do, would you let us know? Because I would like to know that Congress thinks you shouldn't be doing your job by talking to people on an international basis.

If one of my constituents were to loan me money and not allow me to pay them back, what would you call that?

If we are going to ask ridiculous questions, I just think we may as well go to the logical extreme of absurdity.

But there is conservatorship because you won't let them out. You won't let them pay off their debt.
