More from Joseph Kennedy
I am glad to announce at this time that we are establishing a new division in the United States Office of Education to administer the teaching and research program under the act.
There is hereby established the Citizens' Advisory Council on the Status of Women (hereinafter referred to as the 'Council'), which shall be composed of 17 members appointed by the President, one of whom he shall designate to serve as Chairman.
In order to assure effective and continuing leadership in advancing the status of women, it is deemed appropriate to establish an interdepartmental committee and a citizens' advisory council on the status of women.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.
