It seems to me the message there to the Afghans is, 'Look, we're here, and you can rely on us, but you have to do your part, too.'
I believe you can make a contribution -- a major contribution to society in many ways other than just being in the United States Congress. If Congress is the only way to make a contribution, God help us.
